I'm so sorry to disappoint  you..I was sad to finally come to that realization as well.

However,  there is good news! There are lots of reviews on this number 1 rate Speech to Text Program. I suggest that you watch a few of them on youtube.  However,  I did also balk about the initial price and the cheapskate in me finally settled on buying a copy from Amazon.com. Here's why:

  There are several older versions of Dragon Naturally Speaking available for sale on Amazon.  You see, if you are like me and only need the software for blogging  or other casual use, you can get away with an older version, like 9 or 10.  I purchased version 10 and it works wonderfully for me.  It types what I say.  What more could I ask for ?

Really, when you think about it,  $99 isn't a whole lot of money to spend on software that will help you type faster and be more productive.

The Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11 Home Version runs $99 on the Nuance Website.  Notice that this is a Home version so its geared toward private individuals .  Its not as accurate as the Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11 Professional which will cost 6 times as much at $599.

Both are packed with features, the most interesting to me is the ability to control your computer using commands like "Search Map" and "New Paragraph" or "Post to" to update a twitter or" Facebook Profile'

What is the Accuracy of Dragon Naturally Speaking?

Well, I'll be honest. At first,  I thought I would have to speak like a robot in order for the program to accurately interpret what I was saying. However, I have found that natural speech is what works best.  You do have to train the speech to  text portion to be the most accurate.  When you first start speaking it will not correctly type a lot of what you say.  The training is slow and tedious and you have to read may paragraphs in the beginning, but the effort pays off later on.  Once you have thoroughly trained the speech to text software,  the Nuance company says that it is 3 times as fast as manual typing.  

Features of Dragon Naturally Speaking

• With Dragon naturally speaking , you can tell your pc what to do and dragon understands your voice commands and does what you say. For example , you can tell your computer to search the web for a dentist in Atlanta and it will.  It even gets better over time for even  greater accuracy.
  
• Another cool feature is that you really don't have to be hands on with your computer , you can sit back and relax and just do the talking. In essence, you can  be in hands free mode and still control the computer
  
• Speech to text is not only for writing articles and the blogging.  You can also send email, instant messages , surf the web and you so much more including gaming by  just using your voice
  

Alternatives to Dragon Naturally Speaking

While i do find Dragon Naturally Speaking to be the best speech to text program ,there are at least two others worth trying. The first , comes with almost all pcs. It is called Windows 7speech recognition program. This program is highly effective, and is definitely a strong competitor given that it comes bundled with the windows operating system. It is a highly accurate and also requires some training. Before I would recommend   purchasing  dragon naturally speaking , i would definitely suggest that you try the windows program first. It just may suit your needs.

The other program that i would recommend, is called Tazti.  The first time that I tried tasty was in April 2010. At that time it was completely free, but nowhere near as effective or accurate as Dragon.  As of November, 2011, this software is no longer free. however unlike dragon , Tazti does offer a free fourteen day trial or demo for download. I highly recommend Tazti.  It doesn't do so well with large words, but small words it captures very well .

I found this Kohls coupon online.  I really shop shopping at Kohls becasue they keep sending $10 gift cards to my house.  There's no  minimum purchase so I buy as little as i want and only have to pay the difference. One time i Used the gift card and then the cashier was kind enough to give me an employee discount so in the end Kohls gave me .17 cents back and I had some really cool jewelry.

That is the only time I will  ever shop at Kohls , is it that have a cube fund or discount gift card. Otherwise there prices are way too expensive. If you shop clearance racks, you can save a lot of money.

Free Speech to Text | Free Speech to Text Software

Is there free speech to text software. Fortunately, the answer is "yes", and you may already own it!

Back in April, 2011, I began looking for a speech to text software that would help me to blog more frequently. I did a lot of research on speech to text software programs , but most of what I've found, was text to speech programs. That's not what I needed. so, I came across a program called Dragon Naturally Speaking. This program however, can run up to $299.00. This is a lot more than I wanted to spend. So the end I decided to look for some alternatives. Again and most of what I found was not beach to text but rather text to speech. The text to speech programs do the exact opposite of what I needed. Although they are very good, I was trying to avoid typing anything. My typing is absolutely horrible. And I am too slow.  Since I don't like to write, but I do have to blog, I had to find something that would work. I was willing to give dragon in trying, but the cheap skate in me and told me that there had to be an alternative. So my search began. Evidently Microsoft it does have a built in speech to text program. Unfortunately in XP it only works with office 2003. I have office 2007. Obviously this was not a good fit.  For those of you who have windows seven , you can use microsoft office 2007. Most who have reviewed it like Dragon better which is understandable.  

I kept digging, and eventually I found a program called Tazti. I liked  the program because number one it was freed and number two it did almost the same thing as Dragon Naturally Speaking without to the high cost. Of course Dragon  is the leader in the industry but I had to give Tazti a try. This particular post was written using  Tazti . Tazti won't even recognize its own name –keeps spelling it "tasty" .Additionally   there are more than a few errors. For example no matter how slow I say it , the software refuses to properly spell the word blog. In fact,  as I just dictated that the last sentence ,the software rendered "blog" as "block" You will have to be extremely articulate and even still there are no guarantees. I would guess that this free software has about 80% accuracy rate . 

 Another very serious problem with this Dragon Naturally Speaking alternative is with punctuation.  If you indicate  that you would like specific punctuation tazti does a good job of inserting it. For example , the comma that I just used I dictated. But for some crazy reason ,TaztI refuses to capitalize the word I.this really stinks if you are writing a narrative.  

Overall, after demoing Tazti , I decided that I did want to try Dragon Naturally Speaking after all. It doesn't have to cost $299.00. There's always Amazon.com. I purchased my copy on  Amazon for less than $30.00. The software was brand new , the box was sealed , and even came with a headphones. I wasn't expecting The headphones. They  were a nice surprise. It would have been really nice if they let you install it on as many computers as you want. But no software company does that. Dragon Naturally Speaking , allows for three installations. 

Of the two software's Dragon is Ten times  better. But Tazti is cheaper .   By the way ,  Tazti is no longer completely free. There is a free fourteen day trial but the  cost is $29.99 . This is the only advantage over Dragon Naturally Speaking, since it does not offer a free trial.

Dragon Naturally Speaking Trial – Where Is It?

Where is the Dragon Naturally Speaking Trial ? This is an amazing software that is super popular and the the number one speech to text software in the field.  However, although I looked for days, I have found no free trial.  It does seem odd to me that there is no  free trial of this software because it does claim to do an awful lot and it costs roughly $80.  Why wouldn't the company provide a demo of some sort so that customers can see what the software is really about before spending the money. 

The best alternative to a free trial is to watch one of the demos on Youtube.  The only downside to this is that the software will work better for users who have trained it, than for users who do not go through the speech recognition training.  So if you see a demo on youtube that doesnt seem too impressive then its likely that the user hasnt gone through the proper steps to train the software to recognize his voice. Alternately ,  when you see a video in which the software is really doing a great job of typing the words that are spoken then it is clear that the user has taken the time to let the software learn his speech pattern.

I personally do own a copy of Dragon Naturally Speaking and although there is no free trial,  you can effective learn about how well the software works by watching some of the reviews on youtube.

Dragon Naturally Speaking Software is a speech to text editor. The software basically Turns what you say into a text format. It's perfect for sending emails, using word press , blogging etc. You can even tell your computer to perform a specific action .For someone like me who hates to type this is a perfect alternative. With a copy of the free download of the Dragon Naturally Speaking software I could do so much more writing now because I don't have to type . And besides everybody gets writer's block of whoever heard of speakers block? Anyway I have every intention of buying it,I just want to test it first.

So when I found out about this Naturally Speaking Software, I thought I would take it for a spin! So the first thing I did, which I always do Is look for a demo .So I found one link to a demo To download a demo copy of the Free Naturally Speaking software, but when I clicked on the link it took me back to the Dragon Naturally Speaking home page .Evidently the link is outdated  and no longer offers a free demo .I'm not sure why but I did find a clue on Yahoo answers which mentioned that the Australian Nuance  company decided to remove the free demo because of microphone compatibility issues .I suppose that if your microphone does it work or is improperly configured it might seem as though its a software issue. This is really too bad because.I don't know anyone who wouldn't  rather have the software than type.

So anyway, since the stores are closed and I cant get a free demo of  Dragon Naturally Speaking  V 11 tonight I decided to look for an alternative. Twa hair styles for short natural hair

Got short hair? Try some of the best styles for your TWA or teeny weeny afro.  The twa is the first stage of hairstyle that occurs as a result of the big chop. The big chop is the hairstyle when a black woman is growing out her relaxed hair . She at this point has several months worth of "new growth". Its not much,  usually between 1 and 3 inches. She  cuts off her relaxed ends and the result is a TWA. 

For many women this is the first time seeing themselves "naked" like this. There is no hair to frame the face. The face becomes the focal point Eyebrows, lipstick and skin quality become even more important as they are more prevalent. What also matters greatly is how you style your hair. 

Although there isn't much hair, there is quite a bit of styling that can be done.  You can wear a headband, slick it back, wash and goes are quite common as well. 

Wash and gos are as simple as the namesounds. There are two ways to do a wash and go. There is a true wash and go, meaning you wash your hair,style wet  with just a little bit of product applied to make kinks, or coils "pop"  Then there is the "faux" wash and go which involves lots of products , shingling, and manipulation  applied to give kinky hair the appearance f being curlier than it really is. The problem with this is that it make "should-be-easy" style into a high maintenance style. 

Comb coils can be done with about an inch of hair. You will need a rats tail comb and a bit of coordination.  Instead of me describing how to do this,  please refer the youtube video posted by those who have mastered the style. 

Another really pretty style is the twist out.  A twist out can be done rather easily. You wash and condition your twa, then while still damp, add shea butter to each section and  twist tightly .  I would make the sections about  the size of a nickle.  For extra definition and to prevent the ends from just sticking up all over our head., set the ends on a small roller. The result with be a very highly  defined curly twistout.

However you chose to style your newly natural twa, just be sure that you embrace and cherish thie time in your life. You may never wear your hair this short again. Yet its an empowering stage to be able to bear your bare head, stripped of the unnatural symbol of widely acceptable hair and assimilation.  Your wearing the hair God gave you and it is beautiful.
